From Record-Breaking Catches to Insane Plays—Guess What Justin Jefferson Did This Week?

Justin Jefferson is at it again, hitting major milestones with each game. In the Vikings’ matchup against the 49ers, he snagged his 400th career reception, tying him with Ahmad Rashad for the 8th spot in the team’s history. This happened on his fourth catch of the game—a solid 15-yard grab over the middle during the final possession of the first half. That drive ended with a 39-yard field goal, putting the Vikings up 13-7 at halftime.

But Jefferson’s third reception? Absolutely one for the highlight reel. Deep in their own territory on second-and-9 from the 3-yard line, the Vikings decided to go big. The offensive line gave Sam Darnold some solid protection, and he launched a deep ball that Jefferson caught in stride. Jefferson then pulled off a Super Tecmo Bowl-style move, zigzagging past the Niners’ defense and racing to the end zone. Shoutout to Jalen Nailor for hustling downfield to make sure the play sealed the deal. It was the second-longest pass play in Vikings history, only behind a 99-yard pass from Gus Frerotte to Bernard Berrian back in 2008.

Jefferson’s performance in this game also tied him with NFL legend Lance Alworth for the fastest player to reach 6,000 receiving yards. Both players hit that mark in just 62 games—Jefferson entered the day needing only 42 yards and ended up with a monster 133-yard first half. That also marked his 30th career game with over 100 receiving yards and his 20th game with at least 125. For comparison, Alworth took 64 games to reach 30 career 100-yard performances and 63 games to hit 20 games with 125+ yards.

Jefferson continues to cement himself as one of the NFL’s elite receivers, breaking records and delivering incredible plays week after week.
