Simone Biles: All Love, Touchdowns, and Big Tour Dreams

Simone Biles may not have been in the stands as the Chicago Bears faced off against the Houston Texans, but her support for her husband, Bears safety Jonathan Owens, was clear. The Olympic superstar is gearing up to launch her Gold Over America tour, which kicks off in California, making it impossible for her to attend the first two games of the NFL season. However, Owens reassured fans that Biles will make an appearance at Soldier Field soon.

Owens, who married Biles last year, revealed that she’ll be in Chicago on September 29, perfectly timed to attend the Bears’ game before heading to her own tour stop that evening. “She’ll be here the 29th,” Owens said in an interview with the Chicago Bears’ YouTube channel. “She can come to the game at 12, and then boom, I’ll get to go watch her at 7. Pretty dope turnaround.”

Though she missed the Bears’ Week 2 game against the Texans, Biles has been rooting for Owens from afar. With the Bears trailing 17-3 in the third quarter, Owens scored the team’s first touchdown of the season, a huge moment for both him and the team. Biles was quick to react on social media, posting on X (formerly Twitter), “I ALMOST HAD A HEART ATTACK,” and sharing the clip on her Instagram story with the caption, “LFG!! TOUCHDOWN FOR HUBBY.”

Biles won’t be able to attend as many NFL games this season due to her tour commitments. The Gold Over America Tour, a gymnastics exhibition featuring Biles and her Olympic teammates Jade Carey, Jordan Chiles, and Hezly Rivera, kicks off on September 16 in Oceanside, California, and will make 30 stops across the U.S. before wrapping up in Detroit on November 3. With her tour schedule overlapping with the NFL season, Biles has had to say goodbye to Owens temporarily, but her unwavering support is always present, even if from a distance.
