Late-Night Crash on Jacksboro Highway Turns Fatal After Suspect Flees the Scene

Hey folks, some pretty intense news coming out of Fort Worth. Over the weekend, a serious car crash on Jacksboro Highway led to a tragic loss of life and a suspect now in custody.

Here’s the rundown: Around 9:22 p.m. on Saturday night, a crash occurred in the 2100 block of Jacksboro Highway. According to initial reports, a car slammed into another vehicle, causing the victim to be thrown from their car. The suspect, a 25-year-old named Jose Maximino Ramirez Olmedo, allegedly hit the victim’s vehicle while speeding and running a red light. After the collision, he fled the scene, but a witness was able to identify him.

The victim’s vehicle had been making a left turn out of a parking lot when it was struck. Unfortunately, the victim was taken to a nearby hospital, but they didn’t make it. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner is handling the details about the cause of death and the victim’s identity, which will be released once their family is informed.

Later that same night, Ramirez Olmedo was caught and arrested. He’s now facing a charge of “accident involving death” and is sitting in Tarrant County Jail with a $20,000 bond. The Fort Worth Police Department’s Traffic Investigation Unit is on the case to dig into what exactly happened.

It’s a heartbreaking situation all around, and hopefully, the investigation will provide more clarity soon. Stay safe out there, everyone!
