Novak Djokovic’s New Game Plan: Less Tourneys, More Glory!

Novak Djokovic is shaking things up with his schedule, hinting that he might skip some big events like the ATP Finals as he re-evaluates his priorities. Now that he’s 37 and has been scaling back on his schedule, Djokovic is putting his focus mainly on Grand Slams and representing Serbia on the international stage.

Gone are the days when he’d plan his year six months ahead. Nowadays, Djokovic is taking a more spontaneous approach. He’s not stressing about the ATP Finals or rankings anymore. In his own words, he’s “done with those tournaments for my career.” What really matters to him now is playing for his national team and the Grand Slams. Everything else is taking a backseat.

Though he’s on the list for the Shanghai Masters next month, it’s unclear if he’ll show up, considering he hasn’t played in that tournament since 2019. He’s also set to compete in the Paris Masters, which could give him a chance to earn some crucial ranking points.
